Who We Are

Even if you don’t often get inside a boat, you know what a harbour is. It’s a place of refuge…a place of refueling…a place to come home to and go forth from…

Harbour is such a place for you to come and get your spiritual bearings but also be equipped for life out on the high seas. Even when other things fail you—relationships, job security, health or anything else—

Jesus can be your constant.

Our History

Harbour Fellowship Church began its public Sunday ministry on May 8, 1988. However, the Harbour story began years before in the minds of several people. These individuals were associated with Bethel Baptist Church in St. Catharines. A desire to begin a daughter church who would reach out to unchurched people was conceived in their minds and nurtured over several years. The culmination of the hard work of a good number of people was holding our first Sunday service on May 8, 1988.

God’s continuing faithfulness sustains the ministry of our church. We are thankful to those who laid the foundations for a church whose mission would be, “Walking with people from disenchantment to discipleship.” As we look back with thankful hearts, we look forward expectantly, knowing that the Lord has a purpose for us here in the city of St. Catharines and the Niagara Region and he will accomplish it.

Our Membership

Harbour is a member church of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Canada.

We are a movement of over 500 Evangelical Baptist churches in Canada — united through our faith in Christ working nationally and beyond our borders. We are a voluntary association of churches in five Regions across Canada from the Yukon to the tip of Nova Scotia.

Membership in The Fellowship requires that each church be in agreement with The Fellowship’s Affirmation of Faith and be a recognized church within their Region. Other than this basic requirement, Fellowship churches enjoy a great measure of independence. Ties are formed through interdependent relationships, rather than lines of authority.

Harbour is a part of the FEB Central region which includes Ontario and Anglophone Quebec
